Prepare a white-background product photo for Shopify
Cut the product out in the browser, download a transparent PNG, then place it on white in your listing tool. Optional object eraser if a stand or glare remains.
From phone shot to listing still
Works best on a single product with a clear edge. Lifestyle scenes with many objects need more cleanup.
- 1.
Upload the product still
Use the sharpest frame you have. Avoid heavy filters before cutout.
- 2.
Run background cutout
Credits show before you confirm. Download the transparent PNG when it succeeds.
- 3.
Place on white and upload
Drop the PNG on a white canvas in Shopify or your design tool. Compress if the PNG is heavy.
Store-ready details
Shopify wants a clean subject, not a generated lifestyle scene.
Transparent PNG first
You control the backdrop. White is one option; brand color is another.
Leftover stands
Use object eraser on props, dust, or a second product in frame.
Size after cutout
If the subject is small in pixels, upscale before you list. Then compress for the theme.
Rights
Only process photos you own or are licensed to edit. Do not strip another brand’s watermark.
Shopify photo FAQ
Credits, formats, and what we will not do.
Does this generate a studio scene?
No. It cuts out the photo you upload. You add the white (or any) background yourself.
What if hair or mesh is messy?
Run object eraser on leftover patches, or recut from a simpler source photo.
How are credits charged?
Each cutout or eraser run uses the model’s listed credits. Image compression and the browser video editor are free.
Listing checklist
Export PNG → optional upscale to ~2000px on the long side → compress → upload to Shopify. Keep a lossless archive of the original shot.
